  • Overview

    The purpose of the Senior Manager role is to:

    1) Develop category strategies for raw materials, supply chain/logistics and other assigned categories.

    2) Plan and execute the sourcing process for all relevant activities.

    3) Execute and adhere to Corporate Procurement strategy, policy, systems, and processes.

    The Senior Manager, Raw Materials and Supply Chain Sourcing will work within multi-disciplinary team and assume responsibility for leading the development and execution of Raw Materials/Supply Chain sourcing strategies to leverage relationships with suppliers, global affiliates and CMO partners to gain competitive advantage. This includes negotiation, supplier relationship and performance management, and risk management. Strengthens and develops relationships with key partner organizations.                                    


    • Leverages market intelligence and analyses to identify opportunities and risks, including but not limited to spend analysis, commodity pricing forecasts, contract coverage analysis, etc.
    • Collaborates with product management, commercial and operations teams that direct sourcing supports to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies, and that relevant market intelligence is shared
    • Develops and maintains a rolling 24-month sourcing strategy and project roadmap, identifying savings estimates, estimated timing of savings, and execution plans
    • Drives execution of category sourcing strategies (e.g., RFI/RFQ, supplier qualification, auction rounds, negotiation), coordinating with Technical Managers, Quality, Product Managers, and others as required.
    • Maintains relationships with key vendors, and helps address vendor related issues (e.g., pricing issues, performance issues, etc.)
    • Monitors category spend to ensure sourcing savings are captured and do not erode over time Conducts regular project execution reviews with the Director of Corporate Procurement, the VP, Manufacturing and the respective business/functional leaders
    • Responds to raw material category sourcing requests in a timely and efficient manner
    • Supports the budget process by providing expectations for direct material price inflation or deflation
    • Ensure suppliers comply with all business standards, ethics policies and sustainability parameters.
    • Work with all Stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies for key raw materials and supply chain needs. Anticipate and manage sourcing barriers and issues; manage spend and find savings. Develop and support negotiation strategies and competence.
    • Maintain communication with key partners inside and outside the IMMU organization. Responsible to understand and balance the interests, capabilities and needs of these partners as stakeholders in the sourcing of products and services in a GMP environment. These partners include but are not limited to the local Manufacturing operations and management team; the IMMU supply chain management team; the QA organization and experts in GMP requirements
    • Lead the development of a supply chain risk management strategy that addresses the sources of potential disruption to operations and minimizes these risks while balancing good management of expense and working capital.


    • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business, Finance, and/or Chemistry.
    • Graduate degree a plus.
    • 5-7 years of pharmaceutical raw materials sourcing role, technical operations, third-party manufacturing, procurement, supplier development and material management.
    • Member of Institute of Supply Management or similar, preferred
    • Very strong leadership, communication and influencing capabilities
    • Must have advanced analytical and presentation skills
    • Experience in 3rd party (external manufacturing) operations and relationship management
    • Knowledge of best practices within Supply Chain & Sourcing
    • Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) strongly preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidance.
    • Strong analytical and financial skills.
    • Working knowledge with sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba, etc.)
