  • Overview

    The Manager, Inventory Control evaluates and monitors inventory stock levels for all products in each area of the warehouse and manufacturing. This position is primarily responsible tracking and reconciling inventory usage and variances throughout the operations, completing cycle counts and regularly scheduled physical inventory counts for all locations utilizing company owned materials.  The role ensures transactions within the system to support accurate and timely recording of material usage are timely and accurate.  The position will ensure that inventory is allocated to the facilities to fulfill daily production demand.


    • Ensures adequate inventory of products and supplies to meet the goals of the company.
    • Conducts daily inventory analysis/reporting using data from multiple sources (Warehouse, Production, Inventory System, etc.) to anticipate and solve any inventory control issues.
    • Works with the purchasing teams to establish and monitor inventory levels based on anticipated volume/forecasts and production needs
    • Develops, implements, documents, and monitors inventory control procedures and best practices related to inventory control.
    • Collaborates with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to prepare and monitor KPI’s.
    • Knowledgeable of all safety regulations and requirements for the storage and shipment of hazardous materials.
    • Works closely with finance team and coordinates on-site auditor visits and performs test counts
    • Responsible for all Physical inventory variances and in researching/resolving any variances through reconciliation of transactions
    • In conjunction with Procurement, develops and manages efficient acquisition systems for stock items, via Kanban or other appropriate processes.
    • Develops and maintains systems which assure the accuracy of perpetual inventory counts.
    • Develops and maintains inventory locator systems to facilitate easy retrieval for all items.
    • Develops materials cost and inventory reduction programs and provides data to measure progress towards cost reduction targets.
    • Develops and analyzes reports (i.e., ABC analysis, usage history, etc.) to target efforts to maximize inventory efficiencies.
    • Conducts the year-end physical inventory and other periodic inventory counts as necessary.
    • Maintains competencies and serves as back up in the absence of inventory control roles throughout organization.
    • Assists Supply Chain/Procurement in developing and monitoring budget cost related to inventory and stock items.
    • Maintains necessary accounting knowledge and coordinates with Finance to assure that all necessary financial matters related to inventory are handled appropriately.
    • Provides reports or electronic spreadsheets as requested related to inventory accountability, accuracy, costing, and optimum leveling.
    • Assists in training other personnel (warehouse operators, production operators, etc.) with respect to inventory management and other related functions such as: inventory controls policies, processes, reconciliation, and inventory counts.
    • Maintains professional growth through continuing education.
    • Other related duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Must have Pharmaceutical GMP Experience
    • 5 to 8 yrs. experience in operations, inventory control, finance/budget management, procurement positions
