Overview

We are seeking a Calibration Technician to be responsible administering the calibration system through the qualification and calibration of equipment and instrumentation, the development and maintenance of calibration procedures, and the creation of calibration records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in conjunction with the repair and calibration of electronic and mechanical devices.
  • Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures.
  • Maintain, review, and file temperature chart records.
  • Daily recording of clean room differential pressures.
  • Maintain pipette calibration system (collection, shipping/receiving, report generation).
  • Complete calibration reports and cover sheets to GxP guidelines.
  • Assist with routine calibrations of laboratory equipment (i.e. temperature indicators, pressure gauges, centrifuges, and scales).
  • Escort on-site contractors.
  • File and archive calibration/validation records
  • Gown and work aseptically in a clean room environment.
  • Shipping/receiving of instruments and generation of calibration reports for instruments calibrated off-site.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in scientific discipline or technical school certification, plus a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with calibration of temperature, pressure, analytical equipment, gauges, etc. required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel. AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Must be able to adhere to regulated guidelines and follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs). Familiarity with and/or training on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) desired.
  • Must be mechanically competent and have a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with hand tools and operation of basic diagnostic instruments (i.e. multi-meter)
  • Knowledge of calibration theory (i.e. temperature, pressure, speed, time and weight).
  • Knowledge of basic AC and DC electric fundamentals (voltage, current and resistance).
  • Experience with shipping/receiving procedures and software a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to self-manage, complete projects in a timely fashion, and stay on top of routine responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a timeline-driven environment necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
